Bogumila Strojna est une artiste franco polonaise qui vit et travaille en France. Depuis plusieurs années elle expose au Salon de Réalités Nouvelles, et fait partie du comité de celui ci, ainsi que du comité de la galerie Abstract Project, émanant du Salon. Elle est représentée par la galerie Victor Sfez à Paris.
Son travail figure dans des collections particulières, notamment au Musée de Satoru Sato à Tome (Japon), collection de CCNOA (Center for Contemporary Non-Objective Art, Belgique). Elle a réalisée plusieurs œuvres monumentales dans l’espace publique (Matour, Altier – Sculptures en Liberté, ArtLabCity – sculpture monumentale dans l’espace public) ainsi que des projets pour les institutions en France (1% artistique à La Courneuve).
Elle expose régulièrement en France (Galerie Victor Sfez, Galerie Olivier Nouvellet, ParisCONCRET, Abstract Project, Espace Christianne Peugeot, Hang Art), ainsi qu’à l’étranger, notamment en Allemagne, (Hambourg, Edges to Emptiness, open studio, Osnabruck, Hase29, Galerie Kristine Hamann, Wismar, Museum Modern Art, Hunfeld) au Pays Bas (Galerie EM, Drachten), en Slovaquie (Festival Socha a Objekt, Institut Français, Bratislava), en Australie (Factory 49, SNO, Articulate Project Space), aux Etats Unis (New York, Trestle Gallery, Portland, MECA), en Chine (Musée de Beaux Arts, Beijing, Sculpture Art Museum, Qingdao, Shenyang, Galerie 1905, Musée de Beaux Arts) et en Pologne (Elblag, Galeria EL, Kielce, Musée de Beaux Arts, Katowice, University Gallery, Galerie ROGATKA, Radom).
Sa dernière résidence artistique a eu lieu en Roumanie, à Conacul en 2015.
Bogumila Strojna is a French/Polish artist living and working in France. For several years, she has exhibited in the Salon de Réalités Nouvelles where she is a member of the comity and the comity of the gallery Abstract Project, launched by the Salon in 2014. Galerie Victor Sfez in Paris represents her.

Her latest artist’s residency took place in Conacul, Romania, in 2015.
Les créations de Bogumila Strojna s’inscrivent dans la tradition de l’art construit et de l’art concret. Elle part d’une forme simple et connue comme le cube ou le carré et en propose des déclinaisons inventives. Par de subtils retraits l’artiste transforme la géométrie en invention poétique. Souvent, dans ses créations, elle joue des conditions spatiales du lieu réel pour y intégrer ses pièces. Les éléments préalablement construits en léger relief sont disposés les uns par rapport aux autres dans une relation sensible. Les écarts justes assurent la cohérence entre les éléments accrochés au mur et les figures qui se déploient sur le sol. Bogumila Strojna sollicite le spectateur pour qu’il vienne habiter la forme. Il faut se rappeler que le principal outil de mesure pour toutes ces créations est le corps, celui de l’artiste d’abord, celui du spectateur ensuite. Des déplacements émergera un sens encore non établi.

The works of Bogumila Strojna are part of the tradition of l’art construit and l’art concret. She begins with the simple form of the cube or square and proposes inventive variations. Through subtle removals, the artist transforms geometry into poetic invention. She often plays with the spatial conditions of the site to incorporate them into the work. Elements first built in low relief are arranged in sensitive relationships. Specific intervals ensure consistency among items on the wall and figures that unfold on the ground. Bogumila Strojna invites the viewer to enter and to inhabit the form. One must remember that the primary measurement tool for all these works is the body, first the artist’s, then the viewer’s. Through movement, there emerges a meaning not yet determined.
